The 5-HTP product of NOW Foods is a plant source of amino acid, which naturally supports the production of serotonin in the central nervous system. 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-Hydroxydroxy-L-tryptophan) is the intermediate metabolite between the amino acid tryptophan (L-Tryptophan) and the neurotransmitter serotonin (Seroton).
